First-time game dev, learning the ropes with RPG MAKER MZ.
I may have gotten a bit too ambitious with what I'm trying to do with this thing...
But that doesn't mean I'm gonna stop!

My first planned epic-length game is tentatively titled, "HYPERSIGIL SUPERNOVA."
It's a classic JRPG inspired by the likes of Final Fantasy VI and Chrono Trigger, combined with a large number of cinematic scenes that involve a unique musical rhythm game mechanic built around the game's stellar soundtrack -- a bit similar to Everhood, but more like an interactive music video. The story is loosely inspired by a number of bizarre paranormal experiences from my real life, which are seriously stranger than most works of fiction.
Since this is an incredibly monumental undertaking for a single developer, it's already taken me a few years just to gather and organize the massive number of assets and plugins that I'll be using, while learning the basics of what is perhaps the most basic game development engine of all... But my high standards and attention to detail have certainly paid off in regards to the quality of the sound and visuals. I'm also primarily a writer first and foremost, so I'm beyond confident that the story and character development will stand out from the crowd of generic fantasy games and low-effort asset flips that plague the current list of games developed in RPG Maker.
I'm also simultaneously working on a series of YouTube videos documenting the paranormal events just mentioned, in hopes that the following that I inevitably build with that endeavor will lead more people to the discovery of my game. Once I've finished with all of the main videos that I have planned, I'll probably begin using my channel as a game dev log where you can follow my progress and see where things are going...
